The idea behind the design comes from the concept of a “scratch and win” game concept.
If you look the lines around the face you can see the lines that remain after a bit of scratch, the ones that you don’s scratch since you are already seeing the face. When you scratch the piece allows you to uncover the image, as when we discover the real person behind the mask.
